Areas of Interest
Lukas' research is situated in the area of processing and analyzing social media data streams. In particular, he studies how adaptive and scalable event detection techniques can be realized for the Twitter data stream.
Lukas studied Information Engineering at the University of Konstanz. In 2010, he received a Bachelor's Degree with a specialization in databases and information systems. He acquired a Master's Degree in Information Engineering with a focus on Computer Science in 2013. In his Bachelor's and Master's Thesis Lukas added support for updates in general as well as numerous optimisations for large updates to the open-source XML database BaseX. Following a brief stint with a software engineering company he joined the Database and Information Systems group as a PhD student in 2015.
